- Brazil — 2nd IPI in Natal & Max & Edyglaucia
- Project Romania — Norman & Linda Patterson
- Philippines — Helping Hands Ministries
- Clare McIntyre - PCI (Currently on study leave)
Other:
Currently we have two mission partners within Ireland—Billy McCullagh who works with Belfast City Mission in Island Street, a needy part of East Belfast; and Alan and Tanya Nixon who are part of Athletes in Action, a Christian organisation which “aims to win sportspeople across Ireland for Christ, build them into effective disciples and send them locally or internationally to tell others about Jesus”.
Further a field we take an interest in and support the work of Norman and Linda Patterson of Project Romania. They are involved in bringing the love of Christ to Romanian people through the distribution of practical aid, feeding programmes and outreach.
We also maintain a link with the Independent Presbyterian Church of Brazil (IPIB), in particular the work of the 2nd IPI Natal. We continue to support a pastor and his wife involved in church planting in an interior town of NE Brazil as well as supporting Max. A. Fonseca E Silva and his family as he studies at the IPIB theological seminary.
Gary and Mary Reid (Presbyterian Church in Ireland) are our mission partners in Kenya. With their four children, they are involved in evangelism and church planting among the Maasai tribe in Olkinyiei.
Our link with the Philippines is through Claire Domingo and Helping Hands Ministries. Claire is involved in hospital work, providing medical care for needy children in the paediatrics ward and also in the Children’s Recovery Unit (CRU), where children who aren’t quite ready to leave the hospital for home are cared for. Claire also has Bible studies in the hospital for staff.
We are also partnered with Clare McIntyre (PCI). Previously she served in Malawi for 7 years, but Clare is currently training at All Nations Christian College for further overseas service among Muslim women.
As well as supporting existing partnerships, the M.A.G. also seeks to bring before the congregation other needs of the Lord’s church worldwide. There are many areas of need and types of ministry being carried out across the world – the forgotten mission field of Europe, the ever-increasing Islamic world, Bible translation, training of indigenous leaders – to mention a few. One area we will be highlighting is the work of mission agencies that serve the persecuted church. In many countries Christians are denied basic freedoms and many suffer severe persecution because of their faith in Christ. As Christians we cannot ignore the suffering church but must see it as our responsibility to pray for and help our brothers and sisters in the suffering church. If God has given you an interest or burden for this ministry, please contact the M.A.G. and we can provide you with resources that will help you to support and pray effectively for the suffering church.
Although we are committed to these eight long-term projects, we are very happy to help and support other worthwhile ministries as and when the needs are presented to us. But it is not just about financial giving. We urge you to earnestly pray for each of these projects, praying that God would bless the work of all our ‘partners’ so that the good news of Christ would penetrate the lives of those they seek to minister to.
Thank you for your support. We urge you to continue in it so that we can continue to make a small difference in our world. |
